A beautiful and characteristic vintage ceramic Ikebana vase (also known as a block vase or mantel vase), designed by the renowned Dutch ceramist Pieter Groeneveldt (1889-1982).
This asymmetrical model is the epitome of Dutch Mid-Century Modern studio earthenware from the 1950s/60s.
The vase features a distinctive, rough crater glaze in a vibrant turquoise/ocean blue hue, which contrasts beautifully with the dark brown, earthy background.
