Some plates aren't meant for the dinner table. This one sits on a shelf, hangs on a wall, and can command a room all on its own. The porcini mushroom in the center is painted with the precision of a botanical illustrator. The butterfly with mauve wings, lightly perched on the side, seems to have chosen this spot by chance. Scalloped-edge plate, with a square openwork border highlighted with gold. Hand-painted central decor: a porcini mushroom surrounded by wild blackberries, blue grapes, wildflowers, and a butterfly with mauve wings. Four cartouches on the border with small polychrome floral bouquets on a background of golden scrollwork. Pure white porcelain, brilliant gilding, perfect condition. Reverse side with handwritten inscription "Peint main" (Hand-painted), Tarasque Parisonnet, October 1999. Unique piece, dated and signed by its painter. No chips, gilding intact.
