This four-piece tea set by Picquot Ware is a classic example of British industrial design from the early twentieth century (1890 - 1919). The set, consisting of a teapot, coffee pot, sugar bowl, and milk jug, stands out for its flowing, sculptural lines characteristic of the transition from Art Deco to modernism.
The set is manufactured in England from a specially developed aluminum alloy known as 'Magnalium', which is specifically designed to retain its silvery sheen. The handles and knobs are made of solid wood, which offers a warm contrast to the polished metal while simultaneously serving as a heat insulator. The underside of the pieces is clearly marked with 'Picquot Ware' and 'Made in England', confirming their authenticity and provenance.
The set is in good condition, commensurate with its age and previous use. The metal has retained its original shine, while the wooden elements have developed a light patina that contributes to the vintage character of the objects.
