Impressive poster depicting an elderly woman. A photograph that may feel uncomfortable and confronts the viewer with the taboo of showing old age and decay. The layout of this poster enhances the image and vice versa. Rare poster.
Donigan Cumming (born 1947) is an American-born Canadian multimedia artist. He creates across a range of media to produce work that is exhibited and distributed worldwide. Taboos of representation, social engagement, and photographic truth are continuing themes. Since 1986, when his first major cycle, Reality and Motive in Documentary Photography, was launched in New York and Paris, theorists and curators have engaged with his provocative oeuvre in catalogue essays, book chapters, and articles.
