It's with a heavy heart that we're selling this beautiful antique Art Deco cabinet. Also known as a "maid's cabinet." It's made entirely of oak with walnut insets (and a crown). The lines are beautiful. The mirrors are like eyes.
We bought it a few years ago from a dealer in Lille; the cabinet originally came from France. It was originally dark brown with a thick layer of lacquer. We had the cabinet blasted (air-blasted) at a specialist company in Utrecht, including the interior, and finished it with a transparent matte furniture lacquer. This brought the various color tones and wood grains back to life. The original mirrored glass with a beveled edge is still in place, as are the brass door slides. There's a large drawer at the bottom. Inside, there are two more handy drawers under the shelf. All shelves are height-adjustable.
The cabinet doesn't come apart, but it's easy to lift. Dimensions: 194 cm (h) x 107 cm (w) x 42 cm (d).
