Beautiful armchair model MP-97, designed by Brazilian designer Percival Lafer in the 1970s and produced by MP Lafer. The chair has been reupholstered in cognac-colored leather, which complements the dark Brazilian (jatoba) hardwood frame. The characteristic leather straps are visible on the back, while the generous cushion is beautifully quilted and has an inviting, full shape.
The geometrically shaped legs in solid jatoba provide a sturdy and expressive base. As in many of Lafer's designs, comfort is paramount: the loose foam cushion conforms pleasantly to the body and rests within the flexible leather support structure.
This MP-97 is a remarkably well-preserved example of Lafer's work; this model is rarely available for sale and is in excellent condition.
