A beautiful kitchen object, like those we loved in the 1970s, when stoneware, wood, and natural materials regained a prominent place in interiors. This generous pickle jar is made of enameled stoneware, in a beautiful grayish-beige tone nuanced with brown and punctuated with natural speckles. The material is warm, with that particular presence characteristic of ceramics from this period. On the front, the inscription "Cornichons" (Pickles) appears in relief, accompanied by the word "Paysans" (Farmers) traced in a flowing and decorative script. Above all, the set has retained what gives it all its charm today. Its thick, natural cork stopper, deliberately rustic, almost forms a small crown at the top of the jar. It comes with its wooden pickle tongs, which tuck into the side. The combination of stoneware, cork, and wood gives it that rustic aesthetic so characteristic of the 1970s. With its beautiful proportions – approximately 16 cm in height for the pot, nearly 19 cm with its stopper, and 12 cm in diameter – it has a real presence on a shelf, a sideboard, or a countertop. One can naturally restore its primary function, but it will just as easily find its place in a contemporary kitchen where its character will bring a particularly warm vintage touch. The set shows signs of age visible in the photographs, including a small internal chip at the rim, without detracting from its charm or decorative character.
