Exceptional light object called 'Fifty Fifty' in very good condition. Refurbished!!! O-rings, bulbs, all new, including spare bulbs. Everything cleaned!
Designed by Paul Talman in 1965, Switzerland.
Trained as a lithographer in Bern, Paul Talman was a Swiss sculptor and artist known for his abstract works and "moving pictures". From 1960 he created his famous models and spherical images as kinetic objects, which brought him worldwide fame.
The base of the lamp is made of Aluminium and holds nine rotatable plastic spheres, each sphere being printed "ON" on the white side and "OFF" on the black side.
You can position the balls individually in any position. This creates a variety of design options in lighting Design.
If, for example, the top is white, then there is indirect Lighting via the ceiling. If white below, you can use the light directed downwards as a reading light above the bed (or something else)...
Dimensions approx. H:40 x W:40 x D:11 cm (depth without balls 8cm)
Halogen lighting 9 x 10 watts
Danger :
This is the 80's version, not the earlier one from the 60's. A small mini quirk, see last picture, but not noticeable when the lamp is hanging on the wall, it's upstairs.
A small chip can be seen in one picture, right next to the screw connection. But you can't see it straight away and it's small
