This is the iconic Pastoe wire chair, designed by Cees Braakman in the 1950s. The Combex model is known for its airy, graphic silhouette that perfectly captures the essence of post-war Dutch design.
The chair is in a lived-in vintage condition and shows signs of age. The original white lacquer is still on the chair, but spots of rust are clearly visible in various places (see photos). The decision was made deliberately not to restore the chair in order to preserve the original lacquer.
