The Paper Knife Chair by Kai Kristiansen for Magnus Olesen is a prime example of Danish mid-century design. This iconic model is distinguished by its characteristic, razor-sharp armrests, which give the design its name and create a unique silhouette.
Crafted from solid teak, the chair boasts a warm, natural grain and precise craftsmanship, certified by the Danish Furniture Control stamp. The upholstery is a rich red fabric that contrasts sharply with the wooden frame. The construction, with its exposed springs beneath the seat cushion, underscores the functional aesthetic of the 1950s. Made in Denmark, the chair bears the original Magnus Olesen maker's mark.
The chair is in authentic condition, reflecting its history and use. The wooden frame is sound and displays a beautiful patina, while the upholstery has retained its shape and color intensity. The chair is in completely original condition. One screw is missing (see photo). Normal signs of wear are present. These are shown in the photos.
