Description
Tito Agnoli was a prominent Italian designer and architect. He is considered one of the key figures in post-war Italian design. Many of his elegant furniture and lighting pieces are now considered design classics.
Born in Lima, Peru in 1931, Tito Agnoli emigrated to Italy after World War II. He studied architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan, graduating in 1959. There he met Gio Ponti and Carlo de Carli, and for a time worked as their assistant. Subsequently, he independently designed numerous pieces of furniture and lighting for manufacturers such as Poltrona Frau, Arflex, Bonacina, and Oluce. The MissB bar stool dates from 1997. Some of his works are part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
He died in Milan in February 2012.
