A stunning pair of vintage chairs produced in the 1970s by the renowned German manufacturer Wilkhahn, internationally acclaimed for the excellence and durability of its architect-designed furniture.
This is the iconic 231/5 model, distinguished by its distinctly 'Space Age' aesthetic. Each chair features a robust black back shell, contrasting with a seat and back upholstered in the original, beautifully textured fabric in a vibrant and luminous orange.
The chairs rest on an elegant, five-star base in solid cast aluminum, topped with a black tubular stem.
Extremely comfortable and sturdy, these two chairs with their timeless design are ideal for energizing a home office or adding a touch of pop art to a contemporary dining table.
Key features:
Authenticity guaranteed: Original label and Wilkhahn logo stamped under the seats.
Heavy and ultra-stable cast aluminum bases.
Vintage orange heathered fabric creates a beautiful effect.
Condition details: This pair is in very good overall condition. The orange fabric is clean, taut, and has retained all its vibrancy. The black shells are sound with a few minor chips. As these are vintage pieces, there are normal scratches from use and a natural patina on the metal of the star-shaped bases (clearly visible in the photos), which attests to their authenticity without compromising their sturdiness or aesthetic appeal.
