Product number: H-.269. This pair of Art Deco armchairs was designed by Jindřich Halabala for UP Závody in Czechoslovakia during the 1930s. The design is defined by its sweeping, continuous bentwood armrests that transition seamlessly into the legs, a hallmark of Halabala's innovative approach to modernist seating. The chairs feature a high-gloss black lacquered bentwood frame, which contrasts strikingly with the newly upholstered geometric patterned fabric in shades of grey, black, and beige. The upholstery is finished with precise dark piping that accentuates the angular lines of the seat and backrest. The construction reflects the robust manufacturing standards of UP Závody, combining aesthetic fluidity with structural integrity. Both armchairs have been fully restored and newly reupholstered, presenting in exceptional condition. The lacquered finish is smooth and reflective, while the fabric is pristine, ensuring the set is ready for immediate placement. With these armchairs it is possible to change the fabric (leather) and color of the wood. These armchairs serve as a strong focal point in both classic and contemporary interiors.
