This pair of H-269 armchairs was designed by Jindrich Halabala for UP Zavody in Czechoslovakia during the 1930s. The design is defined by its sweeping, continuous bentwood armrests that transition seamlessly into the base, a hallmark of Central European modernist furniture. The chairs feature a solid wood frame with a light, polished finish that highlights the natural grain. They have been newly upholstered in a patterned textile featuring a geometric motif in shades of light blue, white, and dark blue. The construction reflects the innovative bentwood techniques of the era, combining structural integrity with a fluid silhouette. Both armchairs have been fully restored and present in excellent condition. The wooden frames have been carefully refinished to preserve their original character, while the new upholstery ensures they are ready for contemporary use. With this armchair it is possible to change the fabric (leather) and color of the wood. These armchairs are well-suited for a mid-century modern or eclectic interior. Their sculptural form allows them to function as striking focal points in a living room or study, pairing effectively with both vintage and contemporary design elements. Ref.: 3601
