Product description
A prestigious pair of period armchairs dating back to the second half of the 19th century, in the Rococo Revival style (Louis-Philippe/Second Empire). These pieces epitomize the elegance of the upper-middle-class living rooms of the time and are characterized by the famous "hot-air balloon" backrest shape.
Technical and Artistic Details:
Frame: Crafted from fine, hand-carved wood with floral motifs on the top and front crosspiece.
Legs: Classic arched front legs ("cabriole") equipped with original brass/ceramic casters, perfect for easy movement without damaging floors.
Upholstery: Refined sage green damask fabric with floral garland motifs. The armrests are embellished with elegant trimmings with dangling tassels.
Condition: Excellent. The frame is solid and the padding is still perfectly supported. Fabric is well preserved.
