This pair of original Art Deco armchairs was designed by Jindrich Halabala for UP Zavody in the Czech Republic during the 1930s. The chairs exemplify the dynamic lines and structural elegance characteristic of Central European modernist design from this era. Constructed with sweeping bentwood armrests finished in a dark tone, the chairs feature a distinctive channel-tufted backrest. They are upholstered in a textured green textile, accented with contrasting yellow piping that highlights the geometric form. The robust wooden frame provides a solid foundation, reflecting the high-quality craftsmanship of UP Zavody. The chairs remain in good condition, retaining their original character and structural integrity. The upholstery and woodwork display a patina consistent with age and use, adding to their historical authenticity. These armchairs are well-suited for a variety of interiors, from classic Art Deco spaces to eclectic modern living rooms. Their sculptural presence makes them a compelling focal point in any seating arrangement. Ref.: 3494
