This iconic pair of armchairs was designed by the renowned duo Karel Koželka and Antonín Kropáček for Interiér Praha during the 1960s. Awarded at the Milan Triennale, this design remains a celebrated example of Czechoslovak Mid-Century Modernism, characterized by its elegant, airy frame and functional, ergonomic silhouette.
The chairs are currently offered as a stable base for refurbishment. While both wooden frames are structurally sound, one chair is missing the internal steel brackets that support the seating structure; these components are easily replaceable for any restoration project. Please see photos for detailed views of the frames and current condition. This provides an excellent opportunity for a restorer to customize the upholstery and restore the wood finish to its original luster.
With their classic design and compact footprint, these armchairs are a sophisticated addition to a mid-century interior, a modern apartment, or a curated designer office.
