Product description
A beautiful pair of busts in solid, dark, reddish-hued exotic wood, likely rosewood from Madagascar, hand-carved, Malagasy craftsmanship. A couple, woman and man, exquisitely crafted with fine details, these are high-quality pieces. Vintage, 1960s-70s, unsigned.
The woman is 21-20cm tall, 8-9cm wide at the widest point, and 9cm deep at the deepest point. In good overall condition, both busts exhibit small, discreet natural cracks. Some imperfections are more noticeable, including a chip on the woman's left eyebrow and cracks on the right side of the face and skull, as well as on the front of the man's base. These flaws are relatively minor overall and do not detract from the beauty of this small couple. Approximately 1kg each. Sold as a set, inseparable.
