A superb pair of finely chased and gilded bronze candelabra in the Louis XV Rococo style, dating from the 19th century.
■ Each candelabra rests on a molded circular base mounted on three cabriole feet with scrolls.
■ The central stem, decorated with sinuous vegetal stems, extends four asymmetrical arms, lavishly adorned with acanthus leaves and stylized buds.
■ The gadrooned, calyx-shaped candle cups evoke blooming flowers, a typical decorative feature of the Rococo style.
■ The chasing is particularly refined: crisp reliefs, deep modeling, and a beautiful dynamism in the movement of the arms. The old gilding has a warm and even patina, with subtle variations that underscore the authenticity of the pieces.
■ Numbering underneath attests to their handcrafted, multi-part construction. The raw interior, tool marks, and casting texture visible beneath the base are perfectly consistent with high-quality 19th-century production.
