A decorative pair of French wall lamps from circa 1950.
Each lamp features an expressively curved iron frame that supports a round, bowl-shaped shade. The sculptural construction is finished with warm, off-white textured paint and accented with dark wooden spheres, creating a striking contrast between the rough metal surface and the smooth wooden details.
The flowing, curved profiles combine influences from late Art Deco with the playful, decorative character of post-war European modernism. When the lamps are lit, the open shades cast a warm, indirect light upwards over the wall, while the curved frame creates a striking, graphic shadow.
Each wall lamp is currently operated with its own pull switch. The wiring can easily be modified by a qualified electrician for use with a standard wall switch. Dimensions per lamp:
D × H × W: 32 × 32 × 20 cm
In good original vintage condition with signs of age, small stains, and paint damage, revealing the raw iron in some places.
