A rare matching pair of original Czechoslovak lounge chairs, Model 24-24, designed by František Jirák and produced by Západoslovenské nábytkové závody, Bratislava.
The 24-24 design dates from the early 1960s. An example of the related Model 24-24/2, dated 1961, is held in the collection of the Moravian Gallery in Brno.
These two chairs are now being offered together as a pair.
Both chairs retain their original upholstery, loose seat cushions, wooden legs and original manufacturer’s label. The surviving label identifies the chair as Model 24-24 (“Kreslá laminátové”) and specifies the natural oak finish.
The chairs have been carefully cleaned and remain structurally in very good original vintage condition.
One chair has a visible area of wear/damage to the original upholstery along the upper side/arm edge, shown clearly in the photographs. The other chair shows only minor age-related wear. The wooden legs retain their attractive original patina.
No restoration or reupholstery has been carried out, preserving the chairs’ authentic vintage character.
Condition: Good original vintage condition with age-related wear; upholstery damage to one chair as pictured.
