Pair of 2 chrome MR10 cantilever chairs by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, in brown leather. This chair set is an early 1960s example of his famous design produced by Knoll International. The MR10 chair was designed in the 1920s, and this set of six chairs features the chrome springs on the backs and seats. Later, the design was improved, with a shortening of the springs and a return to an elastic corset cord. The chairs still bear the oval sticker marks on the back of the bottom of the seats. The MR10 chairs are very comfortable and are a true design classic, as seen in many films and other media. Our MR10 chairs were recently used to decorate the interior of a restaurant in London, which was featured in Architectural Digest, Dezeen, Elle Decoration, and many other publications (as shown in the images, which are the property of Child Studio). This pair of chairs has slightly damaged springs. We can help you restore them if necessary. There are four other chairs, two of which are in perfect condition, and two where the leather perforations have been torn out. All the cantilever frames are in excellent condition, however, with the expected 80 years of wear. We are selling the chairs in their original as seen condition, and this is reflected in the price. If you would like to restore them with new leather, in any colour, please let us know and we can help you.
