It only takes one glance to understand why Monaco ceramics have endured decades without losing their allure. This pair of vases is a beautiful illustration of this. Signed Cerdazur Monaco on their base, these two vases evoke the seabed of the French Riviera. Vibrantly colored tropical fish move among the seaweed on a turquoise background delicately worked in relief. The sculpted handles, highlighted with luminous gilding, lend a very special elegance to their silhouette. Each piece has been hand-decorated, which gives the set a true personality. The nuances of the enamel, the changing reflections, and the decorative details bear witness to the craftsmanship of Monegasque workshops from the 1950s-1960s, whose creations were intended for a clientele seeking refined decorative objects inspired by the Mediterranean. Displayed on a sideboard, a console table, or in a bookcase, they naturally draw the eye and add a touch of color and light.
