Sculptural and strongly textural, this pair of Brutalist wrought iron wall sconces dates to the 1960s, a period when decorative language approached sculpture, turning lighting into a powerful architectural statement.
The structure is composed of hand-forged elements, intentionally irregular and asymmetrical, intertwined in a dynamic, organic composition. The hammered surfaces, marked by the artisan’s gesture, create a tactile vibration that interacts with light, enhancing shadows and depth.
