A striking pair of Art Deco serving plates by Boch Frères La Louvière, designed in the unmistakable spirit of Belgian modernism associated with Raymond Chevalier. The elegant rounded forms are enhanced by sculptural openwork handles finished in rich gilding, creating a refined geometric silhouette characteristic of late 1920s and 1930s decorative design.
Although conceived as a matching pair, each tray presents its own distinct decorative personality. One features a delicate black floral pattern on a soft blush pink ground, reminiscent of fine textile or lace motifs, while the second is finished in a serene pale blue glaze with minimalist elegance. Together, they create a beautifully balanced contrast between ornament and simplicity — a combination often explored in sophisticated Art Deco interiors.
The subtle curves, restrained palette, and gilded architectural handles perfectly reflect the transition from decorative traditionalism toward the cleaner and more stylised aesthetics of modern design.
