Pair of Art Nouveau spelter vases, circa 1900.
Their theme is spring, with lily of the valley prominently featured.
The two cherubs appear to be a boy and a girl.
These spelter vases have a double patina, bronze and oxidized bronze, giving them a very attractive appearance.
The vases rest on their original griotte marble bases.
They are very sturdy and have no play, especially the cherubs. There are no dents or damage to report, except for a chip in the marble base of the vase with the boy (see photo 6), and then we'll say boys are the most mischievous. Fortunately, the chip is on the back side, which hides it when viewed from the front. The patina shows no wear except at the tips of the large toes. There are few scuff marks, slightly visible on the knees where there are some black marks. But as you can see, it's all quite discreet.
They are 26.3 cm tall and 10 cm in diameter at the base.
They weigh approximately 1300 grams each. Due to packaging requirements, they will be shipped in a 5 kg package. They will be very well protected during shipping.
