An elegant pair of bookends depicting two stylized swans, made in France in the Art Deco style of the 1930s.
Each swan, crafted from patinated spelter, presents a refined contrast between a deep black body and gilt details that highlight their elongated necks and delicately stylized wings. The pair's perfect symmetry enhances its visual impact and makes it a particularly well-balanced decorative piece.
The swans rest on bases of veined black marble, lending stability and character to the ensemble. An original plaque, "Marbrerie d’Art L.C. Saint-Étienne," is present, attesting to the quality of their French production.
Both decorative and functional, these bookends are equally at home on a bookshelf, desk, or console table, in an Art Deco, contemporary, or eclectic interior.
