Product description
Pair of antique fine earthenware bowls or planters, decorated with a view of the port of Saint-Valery-sur-Somme.
These collector's items date from the early 20th century (circa 1890–1930) and were among the regional souvenirs sold in tourist resorts along the Picardy coast.
The decoration is applied using colored decals with gilt highlights and raised floral motifs.
Their Rococo shape and elegant handles make them charming decorative objects typical of the period.
The base is marked "Imported U.C.," indicating a French importer of foreign earthenware (probably from Germany or Bohemia).
In very good overall condition, the decoration is well preserved, the gilding is slightly patinated with age, and there are no cracks or chips.
