Product description
A refined pair of Dutch Amsterdam School Art Deco armchairs dating from the 1930s, characterized by their strong architectural lines, geometric construction and beautifully balanced proportions. The solid oak frames are enriched with contrasting Coromandel details in the backrests, adding depth and a luxurious accent to the restrained design.
The warm grain of the oak combines beautifully with the dark exotic wood and brown leatherette seats. The robust geometry and expressive use of contrasting woods are characteristic of the Amsterdam School tradition, while the elegant proportions give the chairs a distinctly Art Deco character. A highly decorative pair with a strong architectural presence.
Condition
Very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear consistent with age and use. The wood displays a beautiful natural patina.
