An exceptional pair of original MIKADO pendant lights by Artemide/Litech, designed by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche (F. A. Porsche).
The MIKADO system originated in the late 1980s and exemplifies the technically minimalist design approach of that era. The delicate metal construction with multiple parallel rods, the geometric conical light bodies, and the exposed mechanics give the lamps a distinctive high-tech/postmodern look.
The height adjustment is particularly interesting: the lights can be extended from approximately 106 cm to approximately 160 cm. This makes them ideal for use above a dining table, coffee table, kitchen island, or in rooms with high ceilings.
The conical reflectors create a focused downward light, making the lamps both functional and strikingly sculptural.
