Albert Steel was a Belgian painter, born in Sleidinge in 1917 and died in Ghent in 1984. He was the son of the painter Leo Steel and the brother of Etienne Steel. Albert Steel developed his own style, with expressionist characteristics, and primarily painted landscapes, portraits, still lifes, and flowers. He worked in Lovendegem and received support from his father, but developed his art primarily as an autodidact. Paintings:
