Angèle draws inspiration from people. Influences from the classics are still palpable, particularly in her choice of subjects: torsos, portraits, and feet. Her work is figurative, yet her working method—the focus on detail—gives it an abstract appearance. It is precisely by examining that detail closely that you experience the whole. "Angèle van den Thillart paints people, torsos, and portraits. In her portraits, she reveals not only how fragile a person is, but also how much strength they radiate.
