His wooden sculptures are inspired by the cubist work of Pablo Picasso, inspired by traditional West African art. Frank Coronado was particularly influenced by the distinctive cultural milieu of the 1970s. The 1970s was a period of consolidation and development in the arts, usually defined as a reaction to the central tensions of the previous decade.
