An early Oyster Lounge Chair designed by Pierre Paulin for Artifort, dating from the 1960s. This exceptional example has been expertly restored and newly upholstered, featuring fresh foam and a refined wool textile in a rich, melange orange tone that enhances the chair’s sculptural presence.
The chair rests on its original nickel-plated metal base, which shows light, age-appropriate signs of use, consistent with its vintage character. These subtle traces of time contribute to the authenticity of the piece while preserving its elegant appearance. The enveloping silhouette and generous proportions exemplify Paulin’s masterful balance of organic form, comfort, and modern design.
An iconic example of European mid-century design, the Oyster chair is both a blue-chip collectible and a luxurious seating piece suited to refined interiors.
A matching ottoman and/or a second Oyster chair are available upon request.
It is also possible to choose the color or fabric you want. We have the same chairs unrestored in stock. We work with professional upholsterers and specialists. Please ask for the options.
