Frame material: brushed steel piping
Seat cushion: Molded cold-cured foam for lasting comfort
Upholstery: luxurious black primo 88 leather with a natural, open structure, crafted from the finest selection of bull hides.
Designed by Hans J. Wegner, the Ox Chair is an iconic statement piece with an indisputable presence. A bold, sculptural chair that challenged the understated aesthetics of Danish design at the time, with its distinctive headrest referencing ox horns and its voluminous body. It demonstrates Wegner’s organic, artistic approach to furniture and desire to redefine traditional seating. The Ox Chair is arguably Wegner's most striking design, purportedly inspired by his fascination with Picasso's abstract paintings, claiming that design doesn't always have to be so "dreadfully serious". Wegner chose to furnish his home with the Ox Chair, as it was one of his favourites.
This product was manufactured at the Erik Jørgensen upholstery workshop in Denmark, where the skills needed for making this product are passed from one generation to the next.

Provenance: acquired at Bruun Rasmussen auction Denmark in january 2021. The product was in Showroom condition, asumption is that is was obsolete stock after acquisition of Erik Jørgensen by Fredericia in 2020. Assumed production date: between 2010 and 2020.
De stoel verkeert in zeer goede staat, weinig gebruikt en is van showroomkwaliteit. Het leer en geborstelde staal zijn uitstekend onderhouden. Een klein oppervlakkig plekje van ca. 0,3 cm, dat waarschijnlijk eenvoudig te behandelen is mocht dit storend zijn.
De stoel verkeert in zeer goede staat, weinig gebruikt en is van showroomkwaliteit. Het leer en geborstelde staal zijn uitstekend onderhouden. Een klein oppervlakkig plekje van ca. 0,3 cm, dat waarschijnlijk eenvoudig te behandelen is mocht dit storend zijn.
