Generously oval-shaped, this opaque white porcelain bonbonnière is adorned with a very delicate floral decoration. On the domed lid and around the perimeter, bouquets of pink roses bloom among brown-gilt foliage and gold scrollwork, transfer-printed and highlighted with gold. A gold band discreetly outlines the rim of the lid and the box. The interior is pristine white. The gold band shows linear wear consistent with the age of the piece, dating from the 1950s to 1970s. The manufacturer is not identified. The piece measures approximately 20 cm in length, 14 cm in width, and 9 cm in height with the lid closed. On a dressing table or a pedestal table, it would naturally reclaim the place it once held in elegant homes. Its depth also makes it a discreet case for small jewels or precious objects.
