Oval dining set from Marc van Rampeberg for Rampelberg Designs, Kenya Africa. This sculptural dining set consists of an oval dining table and two matching half-round benches. Crafted from solid Mvule wood (also known as Iroko), the set has a warm, rich tone and a flowing, organic form that highlights the natural grain of the material. Each element is entirely hand-made in Kenya and can best be described as sculpted rather than simply built. Skilled craftsmen shape the wood by hand, resulting in soft curves, balanced proportions, and a tactile surface that reflects both precision and tradition. The set is marked on the base, confirming its authenticity. Marc van Rampelberg is a Belgian designer known for his deep connection to African craftsmanship and materials. In the 1990s he founded Rampelberg Designs, working closely with local artisans in Kenya. His approach combines contemporary design with traditional handcraft techniques, placing strong emphasis on natural materials, sustainability, and timeless form. Over the years, Rampelberg Designs has built a reputation for producing distinctive, collectible furniture pieces that blur the line between functional object and sculpture. This rare set was acquired in Kenya by the previous owners, who lived there for several years, and later brought back with them to the Netherlands. The set is in very good vintage condition.
