The setting is a double twisted gold chain, flexible and strong, from which two rows of round pieces, embossed with Arabic calligraphy in the style of Ottoman tughras or Quranic inscriptions, hang in a cascade. Each piece is slightly different, testifying to artisanal craftsmanship. The warm gold patina, slightly oxidized in places, and the mounting style confirm manufacturing from the first half of the 20th century, circa .
