Product description
Presidential office chair designed by German industrial designer Otto Zapf in 1975. Reissued by Topstar.
Fully functional: height adjustable, lockable tilt, and casters. Swivels. Black leather upholstery. "Otto Zapf" signature embossed on the back.
Chair shows moderate signs of wear.
Otto Zapf was a German industrial designer and entrepreneur. In the 1960s, he formed a successful partnership with Dieter Rams. Co-founder of the furniture manufacturer Vitsoe, he was responsible for several groundbreaking creations in post-war German design.
Otto Zapf's designs are characterized by the absence of sharp angles and edges (Otto Zapf quote: "Having never found sharp edges in anyone, I no longer want to believe that the objects around us should have them"). This feature is also present in the model offered here, dating from 1975.
