An iconic Dutch design classic from the early 1950s. This original industrial drafting table, model “Reply”, was designed by Wim Rietveld and Friso Kramer for Ahrend de Cirkel. The authenticity of this mid-century object is guaranteed: the original factory stamp “De Cirkel Zwanenburg” is clearly stamped into the metal of the rotary knobs (see detail photo).
Original metal bumper: The original metal strip is located on the underside of the wooden worktop.
Authentic grey metal side tableau (the pencil tray) on the frame and the original wooden shelf at the bottom, which is slightly damaged.
Fully functional: The ingenious mechanism with the two large rotary knobs operates smoothly. The top can easily be adjusted to countless angles and heights (from drafting table to flat desk).
Condition of the object:
Over the years, the wooden worktop has acquired a beautifully weathered, industrial patina with authentic signs of paint and use. This gives the furniture its unique, rugged vintage character. Perfect as a creative eye-catcher or functional workspace. Please note:
One of the metal bottom legs is currently missing.
