For sale is an absolute masterpiece of Mid-Century design: an original J.T. Kalmar Wall light from the famous „Tulipan“ series (model 9 WA) with 9 hand-blown tulip-shaped glass spheres.
The lamp comes from the cherished first ownership of my parents. It was installed when they moved in at the end of the 1960s and hung untouched in the same spot until recently.
First-hand history: This light is an absolute unique piece with an unbroken family history. My grandmother worked directly for Kalmar in Essen at the time of assembly and brought these lamps directly from production into our family's possession. The lamp is thus from genuine, pure first ownership and has been cherished by the family for decades.
Condition of the glass: Exceptionally good. Since the Tulipan glasses are extremely delicate, complete specimens are rarely found on the market. With this lamp, all 9 hand-blown glass elements are absolutely undamaged - there are no cracks, no chips, and no flaking.
• Condition of the frame: Honest and authentic. The white lacquered metal frame and the small brass tips show the normal, minimal traces of time after more than 50 years on the wall (e.g., slight, age-typical patina or minimal superficial discoloration on the metal, which are not noticeable at all when hanging). There are no major damages. The original pull switch is still present.
Current status: The lamp has just been disassembled. The valuable glass spheres have already been individually and neatly packed for protection, so they are safely stored.
A beautiful, honest piece of design history from a well-maintained, pet-free, non-smoking household.
Transport is absolutely safe and without packaging hassle via the specialized Whoppah furniture courier (costs borne by the buyer).
