To enthusiasts and collectors of high-end vintage design: A particularly beautiful and 100% original "Spring" (spiral) table lamp designed by the legendary German lighting designer Ingo Maurer for Design M / Honsel in the 1970s. An absolute icon from the Space Age & Postmodernism era. This specific model is a sought-after design classic. The lamp consists of a heavy, high-quality chrome-plated steel spiral base that resembles a large spring. Resting atop this is a beautiful, mouth-blown sphere of white opaline glass, creating an incredibly beautiful, soft, and diffused ambient light. Authenticity guaranteed. Unlike later replicas or lighter variants from, for example, the Dutch brand Woja, this original Maurer example features the patented, heavy industrial internal mechanism. The socket holder is welded directly to the chrome rings and features the characteristic white metal "crown" with silver spring clips that hold the glass sphere robustly in place from the inside. Unique detail: Authentic glassblower's flaw. Inside the glass sphere is a beautiful and charming detail from the early production process: an authentic textured stripe/inclusion in the glass (see detail photo). Because the outer surface feels completely smooth, this is absolutely not a scratch, crack, or damage, but a minor production error from the glassblowing workshop of the 1970s. This underscores the artisanal craftsmanship of the mouth-blown sphere and gives the lamp its unique, historical character. When the lamp is lit, it creates a subtle and lively effect.
