For the true enthusiast: a beautiful, minimalist design classic from the 1960s: the Gispen model 1261, designed by André Cordemeyer.
This specific example is unique because it is in completely original condition. On the underside, the authentic paper factory sticker with fabric code 128 is still present. This is the historical Gispen code for the original, mottled moss-green wool Ploeg fabric.
Condition and character:
The chair has been treated with love. After all these decades, the wool upholstery is still incredibly beautiful in color and completely free of holes or stains. Because the chair is completely original, the internal foam padding has sagged somewhat over the years. This is part of its age and gives the chair its authentic vintage character, but it is good to know.
The chrome tubular frame has just been fully polished and shines beautifully again. There is a small, minimal cosmetic flaw on one of the legs (see photo), which is typical for a piece of furniture over 60 years old and is absolutely not bothersome. The original nylon floor caps are still attached.
