This is the iconic Artifort Tulip F550 armchair, designed by Pierre Paulin, complete with the matching footstool. The design from the seventies is known for its flowing lines and exceptional seating comfort, making this set a true classic from the Space Age era.
The set features a sturdy metal trumpet base and is upholstered in the original heathered fabric in brown and beige tones. The armchair and footstool were purchased in 1974 and bear the distinctive Artifort mark on the underside. The organic design and use of materials are typical of Pierre Paulin's designs.
The set is in good, fully original condition. The upholstery has gained character over the years and the seat has become somewhat softer, contributing to the authentic vintage look. The footstool is also well preserved.
This Artifort Tulip set comes into its own in a modern or eclectic interior. It is a striking centerpiece in a seating area or reading nook, where it combines seamlessly with other vintage or contemporary design pieces.
