For sale:
A beautiful and 100% original hand-blown glass fixture for the iconic ‘Tonic’ design table lamp.
This high-end piece of Italian lighting design was designed in 1998 by the renowned designer Pepe Tanzi for the exclusive brand Album (Milano, Italy).
The lamp is still in production (new price of the complete lamp approx. € 352), making this a very valuable and sought-after replacement part.
This concerns exclusively the separate borosilicate glass fixture with the characteristic matte, heart-shaped inner element (which functions as the light diffuser).
The original glass stopper at the top is present.
The unique operation of the Tonic lamp: The design is interactive: the glass bottle can optionally be filled with (distilled) water. By adding a few drops of ink or food coloring, you give the lamp a color of your choice. The original paper factory sticker ("MAX") indicating the maximum water level is still intact! This proves that the glass has never been used or washed.
Condition of the glass:
Condition: Absolutely like new / unused.
Glass: Completely clear, scratch-free, and 100% limescale-free.
Includes: The original, accompanying glass stopper.
Important note regarding the electronics: This concerns only the glass fixture with the stopper. The original metal light arm (which slides into the side opening) and the transformer are missing.
Traditionally, the 'Album' brand is located on the missing metal base, leaving the glass itself unmarked. You have two simple options to complete the lamp:
Affordable LED conversion (approx. €12 to €25): With a universal G4 12V socket, a piece of power cord, a safe 12V plug-in transformer, and a rubber laboratory plug for the side opening, you can easily and energy-efficiently make the lamp operational yourself.
Restore to original (approx. €60 to €90): The internal mechanism (parte illuminante con trasformatore spina) can be ordered as an official spare part from exclusive Italian design lighting retailers that are dealers of Album.
