I'm selling a rare toucan lamp.
It dates back to around 1970 and was designed by Enea Ferrari.
It's an Italian vintage lamp from the 1960s.
The lamp is in very good condition. It includes a new LED bulb.
No chips or cracks. High-gloss plastic.
It impresses with its beautiful, warm black/red/yellow color scheme and timeless design.
The plug, cable, and light switch have been replaced.
The mastermind behind this product is the designer Enea Ferrari, founder of Old Timer Ferrari (OTF), the brand of this lamp, which later became Linea Zero.
Enea, an avid reader, art lover, physicist, and cultural traveler, found inspiration for his creations of objects and lamps in real-life situations.
Craftsmanship and a strong artisanal character have always defined his work.
All Enea products were handcrafted during the prototype phase and subsequently industrialized for mass production. Enea Ferrari's experimental approach led him to use the then-innovative polypropylene Moplen, a plastic for industrial applications with excellent electrical and chemical resistance.
Shortly thereafter, he developed the world's first children's lamp made from this material: the Tucano. The product was so successful that it inspired other designers to create similar products, sparking a trend that continues to this day.
The Tucano was on the market for approximately six years and was primarily distributed in Europe through lighting distributors and wholesalers.
Later, the lamp was renamed Cocorì.
The Tucano lamp was the world's first children's lamp made of polypropylene.
Dimensions: 260 x 180 x 80 mm. Worldwide shipping available.
