Unfortunately, I only have one, but this chair was probably once part of a set. Because just as we have many Thonet chairs in cafes and Gispen or Ikea around the dining table, this chair model was once the standard in India. And this is a nice, lovely old one.
You can see the craftsmanship everywhere, but especially in the repairs here and there. Because an impatient gentleman or lady simply hammered a good nail in here and there to get the wood back together properly.
Despite, or perhaps precisely because of, this carpentry work, it is extremely sturdy and comfortable to sit in. And even more good news: because it is teak, it can also simply stand outside if you wish. It will turn a beautiful grey over time.
