We are pleased to present this oil on canvas portrait of Mr. Minney, created in the first half of the 20th century. The painting is unsigned, and the artist has not been identified.
This portrait of the charming Mr. Minney is inspired by the 1920 oil on canvas painting by British artist Sir Walter Russell (1867–1949), currently exhibited in the collection of the Tate Gallery in London, United Kingdom. The charming gentleman depicted, known as Mr. Minney, was a model for artists who had previously worked in the theater. His comical, weathered face is a pleasant trait to portray.
