For sale is an atmospheric, hand-painted oil painting on canvas depicting a classic fisherman or net mender.
Probably by Hendrik Hansen (1907-1996), a Danish painter. He studied at the academies in Valencia, Antwerp, and Munich. He traveled to Scandinavia, North Africa, the Mediterranean, and the west coast of France for study. Signed "Hansen" in the lower left corner.
The subject matter is likely inspired by Dutch or Frisian genre paintings and was particularly popular in decorative painting during the pre- and post-war periods.

The painting is in age-appropriate condition. There are slight signs of wear and age on the edges and corners. A small hole in the canvas. The canvas remains attached to the stretcher frame. The exact condition and painting style are clearly visible in the numerous detailed photos.
An expressive, decorative original for lovers of maritime motifs, rustic interiors, fishing scenes, and nostalgic genre painting. The painting has a strong character even without a frame, but can, of course, be framed.
