Product description
A vibrant, expressive oil painting (oil on hardboard) by the German artist, art historian, and stage designer Dr. Heinz Beisker (1908–1991).
The work dates from 1959 and depicts an abstracted, cubist row of houses, presumably a southern European coastal village. The striking black outlines and the luminous palette perfectly capture the artistic spirit of the late 1950s. Beisker's background as a theater and stage painter lends the subject a wonderful decorative depth.
